PlacerSustain Core Functions Diagram

This is a start at graphically illustrating some of the core functions of PlacerSustain, a community sustainability network.  Three essential functions:

  • INFORMATION MEETINGS.  Conducting forums and other meetings where informative presentations are being made to participants, including, panel discussions, presentations by individuals or groups, powerpoint presentations, and so on.
  • COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS.  Collaborative group activities involving existing groups in the community, e.g. community organization boards, committees, citizen groups, etc. Where the participants decide that they wish to create a new collaborative group they may do so.  These groups are leadership and action teams, bringing together resources to get things done. Collaboration may also occur more informally outside any group process.
  • SOCIAL NETWORKING FOR SUSTAINABILITY.  Online Community Sustainability Network.  Online tools for communication in and among action groups, a vehicle for sharing information, to and from the Community, all the various benefits being realized in the explosion on online networks to further business and other social enterprise (e.g. sustainability) goals.
