Hello Placer County Neighbors!
As a result of the highly successful Co-Op Gathering on June 6, we would like to invite you to be a part of our Cooperative Venture. We needed a minimum of 20 people to establish a bargaining position with local farmers and we are so pleased that the interest far exceeded our greatest hopes!
It would be excellent to reconvene and establish the leadership team as discussed at the Dingus McGees meeting and break this process down into more manageable parts that are also more inclusive. All interested parties from that gathering are included in this e-mail and if you had a neighbor or friend that was unable to attend, they are still welcome to participate in any capacity that suits them.
Next step:
Pick a date, time, and place to meet.
We are welcome at Dingus McGees but do not want to alienate other venues by pledging our loyalty to one, so all suggestions are welcome.
Based on the response cards received, we can expect 20-30 people. We have found that for most folks, midweek in the evening generally works best.
Finally, we want to do this soon so that we can be eating all that yummy locally grown food at the peak of the season!
So, our first meeting will be held on Thursday, June 28, 6:pm, at Bicentennial Park in Auburn (near Farmer's Market lot)
In preparation, we encourage you to utilize this distribution list to share opportunities and interests around this project and bring any additional resources to this first meeting (just 'Reply to All').
Kudos to you for being part of this process!
We anticipate so many positive outcomes resulting from this effort and are very much looking forward to working with you!
Warmest regards,
