Community Web Portal Opportunities for Local Organizations

  1. Reciprocal Web Links to PlacerSustain and Partner Websites.

Both PlacerSustain and the Partner would  publish web links to the other's site in a prominent location on their respective websites.

  1. PlacerSustain Blog

The Partner may publish blog entries on the PlacerSustain site either as its primary blog, or to highlight blog posts from the Partner's own separate blog site.

  1. Custom PlacerSustain Discussion Forum

The Partner Organization can have a custom Discussion Forum and sub-Forums on the PlacerSustain site.

  1. News Posting

Like blog posts, the Partner Organization may publish New Articles on the PlacerSustain site.

  1. Event Calendaring

Partner events may be published on the PlacerSustain calendar in addition to whatever existing web calendaring exposure the organization may be using.  This may be useful for event information directed to community sustainability interests.

  1. Organizational Directory

Partners would be included in a Partner Directory that is searchable, and that would allow for the publication of expanded organizational information. [Deployment Pending]

  1. Publication to Sustainability KnowledgeBase

Organizations with special expertise in particular areas may publish knowledgebase materials for the general public and moderate the content in the PlacerSustain Wiki

  1. Co-hosting Events

Partner with PlacerSustain on hosting special events of interest to the Community Network.  PlacerSustain actively partners with other organizations to hold the monthly PlacerSustain meetings at the partner facilities.

  1. Affiliating Existing Partner Working Groups and Committees

If your organization has standing committees, advisory groups, or other working groups that are involved in Sustainability Related Areas, we would co-brand these existing efforts and publish information about the existing group's activities to encourage more community involvement and support.

  1. Formation of Collaborative Working Groups

One or more organizational partners may work with PlacerSustain to co-create and support new working groups on various sustainability areas, where there is not an existing group to take on the collaboration focus.

  1. Distribution of Partner Promotional Materials

All interested organizations may provide promotional materials, handouts, etc. to PlacerSustain, which will be distributed by PlacerSustain at its meetings, and made available to other partners to do the same, thus expanding the distribution exposure for such materials.

  1. Joint Media Campaigns and Fund Raising

Opportunities exist to fashion joint media and fund raising campaigns between PlacerSustain and its organizational partners--shared cost and broader public exposure.

  1. Formation of Custom Groups

A custom PlacerSustain Group may be formed for a Partner Organization.  All content can be posted to particular Groups, and Group members may subscribe to all Group content.  Group formation facilitates the filtering  of information to your organization's members and interested public.

  1. Consultant/Technical Services Directory

Organizations that offer particular services or expertise may participate in PlacerSustain's consulting and technical services directory.  The public may search this Directory for local resources to address sustainability interests and needs. [Deployment Pending]

  1. Participation in Jobs Directory

PlacerSustain may create a local online jobs directory for green related job opportunities in the County.  Organizations that are hiring may post job entries in this Directory. [Deployment Pending]

  1. Publish Partner Blog in PlacerSustain Blog Aggregator

PlacerSustain has the existing capability to integrate an organization's blog feed into the PlacerSustain website.  The Aggregator stays current with your blog site's postings.  Here again, we are aggregating traffic and providing added public exposure for the material your organization is publishing. 

  1. Polls and Surveys

We may create custom online polls and survey questionnaires tailored to your organization's interests providing a low cost method of getting information.

  1. Website Hosting

PlacerSustain may host full service organizational websites taking advantage of a unified user database and public access across organizational silos.  This is also a low cost web deployment for organizations that would like to expand their web services to include blogs, news, wiki, forums, etc.  [Deployment Pending]

19.  Healthy Placer Print Publication

It is possible to create a print publication that is an information resource to the general public that is supported by a broad coalition or alliance of community groups--really a print version and function similar in nature to the on-line publication.
