PlacerSustain: Voices of Placer County's Sustainability Community

THIS IS A COPY OF A DRAFT RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR CONSIDERATION BY THE PLACER COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS THAT IS CURRENTLY UNDER DISCUSSION.  THE RESOLUTION OUTLINES CERTAIN KEY PLACERSUSTAIN ACTIVITIES.  PEOPLE INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING THIS RESOLUTION MAY SEND AN EMAIL TO JFB@PLACERSUSTAIN.ORG.

RESOLUTION

In the matter of a resolution in support of the PlacerSustain Community Sustainability Networking Initiative.

HERE IS A LINK TO THE "LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE FOR ECOLOGY AND THE ECONOMY", AND AN EXCERPT FROM THEIR HOME PAGE.  THE ORGANIZATION IS LOCATED IN SONOMA COUNTY, HAS A GEOGRAPHICAL FOCUS ON THE NORTH COAST OF CALIFORNIA, AND IS A SPONSOR OF THE "SUSTAINABLE ENTERPRISE CONFERENCE" IN ROHNERT PARK ON MAY 13, 2011.

The Natural Step is a Global Sustainability organization that has pioneered a program of sustainability principles and practices.  According to Rick Gruen, the new Placer Resource Conservation District Manager, Natural Step principles where incorporated into the Sustainability Plan they developed in the Portland area.
